The most important thing to know about my blog is that it isn’t really a blog. I really just want a place to explain things, even if just to myself, once I’ve invested time looking into topics outside of my work. The tone of my writing will resemble a blog (mostly conversational), and I aim to update regularly; however, my posts are unlikely to be static. I will be updating each post if I have more to say, or find out something else, or can think of a better way to say something. The dates on each post will represent the date of the most recent update, but not always the date the post was first published. I can’t imagine ever being satisfied with my first draft/version, and I don’t think I’ll have have comprehensive understanding of these complicated topics after just one pass over.

This feed will mostly cover topics I’ve recently taken an interest in and want to memorialise.

What to Expect

Most of the posts here will fall under broad “series” categories (e.g., Earth Observation, transport network models, optimisation in retail…). If an topic has interested me, I would like to flesh it out over the course of multiple posts, hopefully in some structured manner that breaks big complex topics into bite-sized chunks.
